A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT

On behalf of the Xi Kappa chapter of Chi Omega, welcome! My name is Kate McKinney and I have the incredible honor of serving as President of Chi Omega at Texas A&M University. Our hope is that as you view our website, you can catch a glimpse of the heart behind our chapter and what makes it truly one-of-a-kind.

Coming into college, I knew I wanted to find a strong group of women that would push me to be better and an enduring community in the midst of so many new experiences. When I was going through Recruitment in 2021, Chi Omega instantly drew me in. My conversations were authentic, memorable, and so fun. I saw the older women in the chapter and I knew I wanted to be just like them at the end of my time in college. I left each round more confident that Chi Omega was the community of women I wanted to spend the next four years with. Since then, Xi Kappa has truly exceeded every expectation I could imagine. The women of this chapter have led me, loved me, and challenged me in the pursuit of being a better friend, student, and Aggie. Your years at Texas A&M will be some of the most exciting times of your life. There are highs and lows in college, but through Chi Omega, I have found friends who will show up for me in the good and the bad. They comfort me in times of need, and celebrate with me in times of success.

Chi Omega seeks to inspire individual growth in each woman in our chapter, and the members of Chi Omega are incredibly well-rounded. Each member shows ambition in academics, campus-involvement, and selfless service. Whether it be involvement in the Student Government Association, Maroon Coats, FLOs, Aggie Dance Team, or leadership in on-campus orgs, it is hard to find an organization a Chi Omega is not involved in. The desire to be involved is truly a testament to the tradition of excellence in Xi Kappa that has inspired us all. While each of our personal activities vary, combined they reflect the hearts of the women in our chapter and their desire to make an impact on our campus, our philanthropies, and the surrounding community of College Station.

The best part of Chi Omega is being able to experience the true, deep-rooted friendships formed by this chapter. The past 3 years at Texas A&M and in Chi Omega have been the best years of my life, and have allowed me to witness the strength and steadfastness of these friendships through many different seasons of life. These years have provided me with the friends I have always dreamed of; women who will be my future bridesmaids and lifelong confidants.

I can confidently say that Chi Omega has shaped me into the woman I am today. Choosing Chi Omega is the best decision I have made to date, and If I could do it all over, I would choose Chi Omega again and again.
